QR Code Project
Ok, first of all, what is a QR Code? QR stands for Quick Response, and a QR code is a small, bar code like image that can be read by a smart phone, such as an iPhone, and generally links to a website or other online media. You can learn more here.
So how are we using QR Codes at Main Street Mason City? If you stop by our office, you'll notice one right on our front window that links to our website. This allows people to learn more about our organization as they walk past. We are currently working on a digital version of a historic walking tour which will put a QR code in the window of various historic buildings downtown. A passer by with a QR reader can scan the image and learn all about the history of the building, as well as be linked to the current occupant.
We've just begun this project, but check back soon for updates!
