An Incentive for Housing Development. Developers and contractors building or rehabilitating housing in an established Enterprise Zone may be eligible to receive certain state tax benefits.Contact Main Street Mason City for more information.
BUSINESS ENTERPRISE ZONE PROGRAM
Similar to the Housing program, the Business Enterprise Zone Program is targeted at those rehabilitating commercial space.
Historic Tax Credits may be used by those restoring historic properties to reduce a portion of their costs.
Challange grants are administered through Main Street Iowa and may be applied toward historically significant or urban renewal projects.
URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX ABATEMENTS
Tax credits from the City of Mason City applicable to property improvements inside the downtown district.
Private loan money from local banks may be available to qualified projects at a reduced rate for work inside the downtown district.
